ONE BRAND 2 WAYS TO SHOP We are a mother-and-son duo who dared to dream big—opening a Black-owned beauty supply store in the middle of a pandemic, and later acquiring one of Cleveland’s most historic beauty supply stores to continue serving our community. Where It All Began: In 2021, we launched Play Beauty Supply, becoming 1 of only 3 Black-owned beauty supply stores in Cleveland at the time. Our goal was simple but powerful: to create a space where Black beauty was seen, valued, and celebrated. Despite opening during the challenges of COVID-19, we were met with overwhelming support from the community A New Chapter for Star Beauty Plus: In 2024, we took the next step and acquired Star Beauty Plus, a beloved beauty supply store that has been a Cleveland staple for over 50 years. Formerly Korean-owned, it is now Black-owned and family-led, continuing its legacy with a fresh energy and deeper commitment to our people. Play Lives On: Today, while our original Play Beauty Supply physical location has closed, our mission lives on through Star Beauty Plus and our online store, playbeautysupply.com. Whether you visit us in person or online, you’ll find a beauty experience made with love, intention, and community at its heart.
