FlameKeepers Hat Club began as a Harlem-based fashion and lifestyle business founded by Marc Williamson, a longtime hat industry professional from New York City. Williamson entered the hat business more than 20 years before opening the store. He originally worked as a stock boy at a hat company, then learned the craft by observing, selling, and eventually designing hats himself. After years in the industry — including experience with established hat retailers — he launched FlameKeepers Hat Club in Harlem in 2014. The company was built around more than just selling hats. Its mission centers on “passing the torch of good taste from one generation to the next,” combining fashion, elegance, culture, and community.
