Earth & Mani began with a mother and daughter, Elisa and Imani, who had been going to the same beloved Korean-owned nail salon since Imani was a little girl. One day, Elisa overheard Mr. Kim, the salon owner, discussing the possibility of retiring. She gently asked if he was ready to sell, and to her surprise, he smiled and said yes — it was time for him and his wife, Cindy, to rest and return home after many years of service. Elisa, known as “Earth,” saw a vision not just for a business, but for a legacy — one that would support her daughter’s future while continuing a cherished neighborhood tradition. Elisa had once worked in beauty herself, and the idea of returning to that world with her daughter by her side filled her heart with joy. Mr. Kim agreed to sell, and during the transition, Cindy took Imani under her wing, training her each morning as if she were her daughter. Imani, now stepping into her purpose, became the salon’s manager and organic wellness specialist, combining her background in psychology, life coaching, and holistic wellness to create a sanctuary for self-care. The existing staff, five talented and caring women who had been with the salon for over a decade, stayed on to help nurture the next chapter. Earth & Mani honors the legacy of White Star Nails while transforming it into a peaceful, organic wellness spa rooted in clean beauty and cultural harmony. No harsh chemicals.
