With paternal roots hailing from Belize alongside a maternal southern upbringing, Founder and Chef Brianne Grinage, launched Creole Soul Food in 2021. Harold Grinage Sr., Brianne's late grandfather, lead the family as a cook and a chef occupationally; but at home he was often out-shined by his wife Iris Grinage, who would go on to sustain the dishes that was dear to the country they migrated from upon settling in New York City. Curry spice, smoked paprika, garlic, peppers and onions are staples in every meal, highlighting Creole culture. Indulging in Soul Food has always been celebrated amongst African Americans and is indispensable for Southern families where food gatherings are a form of love; the heart of cooking. Intertwining Cajun spices with the traditional recipes of Soul Food cuisine birthed Creole Soul.
